My son Jake was fortunate enough to be a 3rd grade student at St. Ambrose School when Paul began providing guitar lessons after school. Four years later, I can’t imagine Jake taking guitar lessons from anyone else.  Not only has Paul taught Jake how to play everything from blues to rock to jazz, he also instilled in him a love and appreciation for legendary blues and rock guitar players and their music.  That kind of invaluable exposure to the history behind blues music today isn’t typically taught in any of the school music programs. My son Trent has been taking lessons with Paul for 2 years. My son started lessons at the age of 7. Trent was having some difficulty with his reading skills and memory. Paul noticed Trent’s memory problem where he could not recall a note they had practice the lesson before.  Paul and I talked, I explained Trent was having some difficulty with memorizing patterns and sight words.  Paul explained to me he could teach Trent some memory games for learning notes which are used at times with teaching music. Trent has done a complete 180 this year both with reading and music.  The skills music have taught him has allowed him to use those skills with his reading skills. Not only is he doing well with reading he is doing an amazing job with learning how to play the guitar.  I THANK Paul for taking the time to work with Trent. It has really WORKED!!!
